CASE STUDY: Trotters Children’s Wear
Trotters is a luxury children’s clothing brand with well-known shops in London, and their collections are also available through Next and John Lewis. We’ve been the commercial photographers behind many of their campaigns since August 2020, creating children’s lifestyle photography for a brand that’s trusted by families across the UK. Over the past year, we’ve worked across a wide range of Dorset and UK locations, producing children’s fashion photography in large country houses and private estates, schools, woodland, farmland and studios. In previous years, our location photography has taken us into private homes, onto beaches and clifftops, into beach huts, barns, lakeside settings, shepherd’s huts and plenty more. This mix of environments has allowed us to create natural, playful lifestyle photography that fits perfectly with Trotters’ look and feel.
We’ve collaborated with an incredible team throughout these productions, including the Trotters brand team, model agencies, stylists, hairdressers, videographers, lighting assistants, venue teams and, of course, all the brilliant child models. As a Dorset commercial photography team, we handle everything from creative direction and shoot production to lighting and stills, making sure each campaign feels true to the brand.
Trotters’ mantra, Making Childhood Memories, sits at the centre of every shoot. Our job has been to capture that sense of fun and authenticity across Christmas campaigns, party collections, outdoor lifestyle shoots, sports and ballet themes, pyjama collections and back-to-school photography. We’ve eaten a lot sweets, acted like fools, moved a lot of lighting and sandbags and met some wonderful people along the way., And in it all, we’ve tried to create imagery full of personality and movement. Tom leads the lighting and most of the photography, while Lizzie produces the shoots and works with and directs the kids to achieve the images we’ve envisioned.
Trotters continue to be an exceptional brand to work with. Because of the trust we’ve built, they can call us whenever they need fresh content, whether it’s a full commercial campaign, a lifestyle shoot on location, or quick turnaround visuals for new clothing ranges.
